In Taiwan, the service industry makes up nearly 70% of its GDP and the people employed in service industries hit up to 60%. The service sector plays an increasingly important role in the economic development. However, most service industries are so far confined to the domestic market only.

In line with the latest New Southbound Policy, Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI), which is the National Level Services Research Think-thank, is well positioned to help Taiwanese Enterprises in tapping into ASEAN markets. Aiming to forge a sense of community between Taiwan and ASEAN, CDRI organized the “2016 International Forum on the Globalization of Service Industries” at NTUH International Convention Center. As one of the leading Malaysian organizations in Taiwan, the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (MAYCHAM) was honorably invited to be the key speaker for this event on December 1st. MAYCHAM appointed its Director, Ms. Yeinnie Tan to give a speech on its behalf. Having aggressively engaged in the service market in Southeast Asia region, Yeinnie successfully elaborated and shared with some 400 audience her extensive practical work experience in Malaysia and Vietnam.
